Tourism Rock Star Awards
The Collier County Convention and Visitors Bureau annually gives out awards to local hotels and attractions that helped to increase Tourism that year. Titled the “Tourism Star Awards”, the luncheon is usually hosted at one of the local resorts and takes on a fun theme. Our job was to come up with the theme and create all the collateral.
For 2016, we pitched a classic Rock & Roll theme, taking inspiration from vintage Hatch Show Print posters. In the beginning we were afraid the idea might be a bit too playful for our Client’s tastes, but on the contrary, they loved it!
Treating the award show as if it was a music festival, the concept could easily take on a lot of legs. I designed the Save the Date email as a rock poster, the invite as a ticket, the fact-card as a backstage pass and so on. I also had some ideas for concert T’s, gold records and vinyl albums, but only so much could be done within the budget.
It turned out to be quite successful; Attendees were craving something a bit more fun this year, and that’s what they got.
